merci

merci is a store that was recommended to me that i knew i had to check out. it has kind of an anthropologie vibe that's bit a less whimsical and a tad more modern. not only does it feature a cute cafe, but the art installations change from season to season. as of now it's a bicycle theme. how apropos pour moi.

angelina

crossed another item off my to-do list- hot chocolate at angelina. or more specifically, their infamous le chocolat chaud l'africain. it's dark. it's thick. it's rich. it's creamy. it's melted chocolate in a cup. but it's actually more drinkable than i was expecting, even though i couldn't finish mine. for 7 euro they give you a decent amount, which is surprising by parisian drinking cup standards. i wouldn't call this your everyday hot chocolate, but sure is a lovely treat for a special occasion or just a bitter cold day in paris.

most days we are out and about photographing whatever catches our eye. so it was a nice change of pace when we got the chance to do some fashion photography in a beautiful studio while learning tips and tricks from a real photographer. the room's intricate crown molding and weathered aesthetic made for a great backdrop against the madame grès pleated dresses modeled and designed by two swedish paris american academy students. 

who's next

one day we went down to the port de versailles to walk around the who's next tradeshow. even though it's fun to scope out clothes from upcoming collections, for me it's really torture since you can't buy anything. that said, the choreographed fashion show was definitely the highlight of the day. that's right, choreographed. needless to say, it was awesome.

the gauffre au nutella is almost as popular on the streets of paris as the crepe version. while it was delicious, i have to say i prefer the latter. but let's be real, anything drizzled in warm nutella is bound to be a winner...
