falafel

if you haven’t noticed already, i do my research when it comes to food. l’as du fallafel was one of those places that i read about numerous times and knew i needed to check out. located in the marais (aka the jewish quarter), this walk up window/restaurant is notorious for being the best falafel in the city. while the long line (although the day i went it wasn’t that bad) may make you want to settle for one of the other many falafel joints on rue des rosiers*, the wait is worth it. they stuff the pitas full with freshly fried falafel, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, grilled eggplant, hummus, and tzatziki sauce. DELICIOUSNESS. i wouldn’t call myself a falafel expert, but i don’t see how it could get better than this.

you can get a spicy sauce on it too

*in order to speed up the process/keep you from taking your money elsewhere, employees take your order in line. so don’t be skeptical when a man comes up to you, hands you a ticket, and asks for 5 euro. well, unless that ticket doesn’t have the restaurant logo.
